need rain by aug 3 (or trouble)

e: ... sometime in june, when it was still bone dry, a few old-timer ranchers told me that it always rains on the fourth of july ... and that while everyone else was selling all their cows due to the extreme drought (3X local sale barn volume), that they were going to wait until after july fourth to make their decision ...

... it began to rain on july 3 ... and it did rain on july 4 ...

... it is now day four since the last decent rain on july 27 ... and i now hear that we need rain by aug 3 (saturday) or else the grass that has begun to grow will burn up and die ... and if that happens ... then those remaining ranchers who have not yet sold out will begin to do so ...

... once ranchers stop selling cows, or there are no more cows to sell, then the price of beef will skyrocket.

furface (domestic and friendly)

e: ... furface was the first of the kittens to be held and petted ... i picked her(?) up, held her in my arms, and petted her while she purred ...

... the dark one ... a short black haired female ... i can pet her a little too, but i have not yet held her like i did furface today ...

... camo, i can just barely touch ...

... milky, i cannot yet touch ... she stays out in the small house ... at first with papa cat, but i have not seen him for weeks now ... i feed milky separately on the front porch ...

... there are, however, two new cats staying out in the small house with milky ... a long haired red tabby ... and a long haired grey tabby ...

... mama cat doesn't run very fast, but i still cannot yet pet her either ... i can get just a couple of feet from her and then she scoots off away from me ...

... furface is a long haired brindle cat ... with no body underneath ... just face and fur ... crazy cat ... she likes to lounge in the cat bed on the cat couch (in the freezer room) ... legs and tail every which way ... all fur ...

... they don't know it, but they are all about to be fixed ... if they aren't tame before then, they will be afterwards ...

... congratulations to furface ... the first of the semi-feral kittens (born last august in the basement) to transition back to being domestic and friendly.

pt2 snitch nation (DEA tip line)

Drug Agents Say Help Us, Text Us
jul 25, 2013

... text “drugs” or the Spanish “drogas” to TIP 411 or, 847-411, and then the details of what they’ve observed. The message goes through a system set up by a private company [very likely a public-private partnership] to keep the texter [snitch] anonymous.

“It allows the tipster [snitch] to communicate with the DEA agent in real time,” DEA agent Joseph Arabit said.

The program has already been running in Albuquerque for a year and in El Paso, Texas, for 2 1/2 years and has generated 360 leads, many of which have led to convictions, he said. [secretly, no media coverage]

... the DEA [feds] will notify local law enforcement.

Catron County
"The Best Kept Secret in New Mexico"

... almost 7,000 square miles ...
Approximately 3,500 people ...
... two square miles of space per person ...
Apache and Gila National Forests
Continental Divide

... four wheel drive vehicles ... horse and mule ...

Cruzville

Visitors may notice a curious thing about the fence posts near Cruzville ... Some posts have a piece of wood about an inch thick and six inches square nailed flat on top of the posts ... These were used to support luminaries ... used to light the pathway to the churches ...

Reserve

Reserve is the County seat and largest town in the county and boasts a population of about 380 ... sets along the San Francisco River ...

Datil

Rising majestically from the bush and grass of the San Augustin Plains, the Datil Mountains rise to an elevation of 7500 feet nestling the town of Datil at its feet ... Eagle Guest Ranch, a café, motel, general store, gas station, and RV park ... Datil Well Campground was a cattle watering well on the historic stock drive from Springerville, Arizona to the railhead in Magdalena, New Mexico. [day's ride east of Datil]

Pie Town

In the 1900’s a day’s ride by horseback west of Datil along what is now know as US 60 sits a small community on the Continental Divide originally know as Norman’s Place ... They grew pinto beans until 1956 when the lack of rain and snow made farming difficult.

Quemado

In the 1900’s and another days ride by horseback west of Pie Town will bring you to Quemado, which lies at an altitude of 6,970 feet. Quemado is the Spanish work for “burned”.

Luna

Luna is a tiny sleepy historical village that was settled in the 19th Century by a sheep rancher and powerful political force in New Mexico named Solomon Luna. The area was later settled by Mormon ranchers from Utah. However, the Hough Ruin (pronounced HUFF) is just a reminder these early settlers were but newcomers, as the Hough Ruin dates back 700 years earlier ... L-shaped, multi-storied ruin containing 20 to 35 rooms, and two kivas.

Gila Wilderness Area

The Gila Wilderness Area contains 558,014 acres and was established in 1924 ... This is the oldest wilderness area in the United States ... No roads or motorized travel of any kind are allowed in a wilderness area.

Glenwood & Surrounding Area

The famous Catwalk is five miles out of Glenwood ... The Catwalk is 25-30 feet above the stream in a canyon that is so narrow you can almost touch the sides while on the Catwalk ... The Catwalk trail rises up out of the canyon and continues many miles into the heart of the Wilderness.

Catron County, New Mexico

Ake Site - A prehistoric archaeological location near the town of Datil in the San Augustine Basin, it has been dated during the Clovis period between 10999 BC 8000 BC, and during the Folsom period between 7999BC and 5999 BC, making it among the oldest inhabited sites in the American Southwest.[7]

Bat Cave, near Horse Springs, was occupied around 3,500 BC.

In 1598, the region was declared part of Santa Fé de Nuevo México, a province in New Spain. The province remained in Spanish control until Mexico's declaration of independence in 1821.

Mexico ceded the region to the U.S. in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848 after the Mexican-American War.

In 1880, Sergeant James C. Cooney was the first person to find silver and gold ore in the mountains of Catron County. He was reportedly killed by Chiricahua Apaches led by Victorio that year in what became known as the "Alma Massacre".

... the infamous Goyaałé (Geronimo) had several hideouts in the county.

In the mid-1880s Butch Cassidy and his Wild Bunch gang holed up at a ranch near Alma, New Mexico. Notorious outlaw Tom Ketchum also lived in Catron County around this time.

Catron County's lands were part of Socorro County from the creation of Santa Fé de Nuevo México until 1921.

The Lightning Field, an art installation, brought national attention to Quemado in the late 1970s.

In Catron County there is a volcanic area that until recently contained sufficient heat to cause steam to rise after a slight rain. It is called Burning Mountain and appears to have been used by the Apache for healing purposes.

[local story]
Catron County readies for battle
From the September 19, 1994 issue

Catron County, N.M., which pioneered local land-use planning against federal control of public land, has passed a resolution urging every household to own a gun. It's a protest against gun-control laws and a tool in Catron's war of nerves over cattle grazing. Originally, the county commission considered an ordinance requiring gun ownership. That got watered down after some locals complained such an ordinance would be as repressive as forbidding gun ownership. Still, the county got plenty of attention, as CNN, ABC and The Wall Street Journal showed up at the county courthouse in Reserve to cover the vote. Now, Catronites are forming a militia. "Citizens are getting tired of being tossed around and pushed to the limit by regulations," said Carl Livingston, a county commissioner. "We want the Forest Service to know we're prepared, even though violence would be a last resort." At a meeting of the county chamber of commerce recently, Forest Service District Ranger Mike Gardner urged caution. "What are you guys arming against?" he asked. "A .30-.30 won't do any good against (U.S. government) Bradley fighting vehicles and attack helicopters."

next generation old-timers (don't get it)

e: ... will the next generation of "out of touch" old-timers who "don't get it" be those people who are hyper-sensitive to being recorded?

... imagine ... a room full of people, perhaps at a party, and 8 of them are  recording and streaming real-time video to some social site ... facebook, linkedin, blogspot ... time and location for all ... all participants identified, tagged, and broadcast to the world ...

... is that tomorrow ... today ... or yesterday?

... and do you have the right to not be identified?

pt5 norman (him and me)

e: ... it didn't work out ... the two cows and norman were all standing around like complete strangers ... nobody knowing nothing ... so i turned them all out ...

... i will just have to go find norman every time at feeding time.

pt4 norman (2 surrogate mama candidates)

e: ... ok ... don't ask me how i got so lucky ... but i now have two very good candidates to be norman's surrogate mama in the corral with him ...

... the first candidate is a yellow cow who appears to have no calf, but whose sister has a calf that looks just like the one who died earlier in the spring ... this cow may have been that calf''s mama ... and norman looks like that calf ...

... the second candidate is a cow that the rancher rehabilitated a couple years ago after she broke her hip during calving ... i can't believe it, but i just saw two calves sucking her ... so i know she is cool with it ... hahahah ... now, i just have to get her calf (a little heifer) in the corral with her ... and then we wait and see if norman can suck one of these two mamas.

pt3 norman (on the lamb)

e: ... oh, great ... norman is on the lamb ...

... a few hours ago i let mama cow out of the corral, but kept norman ... the plan was to put different cows in with him to see if one would adopt him, since his mama isn't producing any milk ...

... well, mama cow went out to pasture for a few hours, but just came back in looking for norman, and calling out ... so i decided to let her back in the corral to spend the night with him ... and only then did i notice that he was not there ... i checked thoroughly inside and outside, around the corral, but could not find him ...

... i am pretty sure i know where he made his escape ... through the space between the fence and the drinking tank ... then out the north side of the corral ... but i'll have to wait until sunrise to go searching for him ...

... he'll be ok for one night, i am sure of it ...

... i'll have to take his bottle with me in the morning  ... then i'll decide what to do next ... normally you tie the calf's legs together and throw him in the back of your truck ... i might be able to do that ... i could use the atv and trailer ... how hard could it be to tie a calf's legs together? ... he's still small ...

... mama cow has stopped calling out for him ... maybe he showed up already ...

... we'll see in the morning.
------------------------
(update)

e: ... norman is fine ... he is with his mama and half the herd in the west pasture ... i fed him his bottle this morning ... his mama is still not producing any milk ... i have not yet decided what to do next ... i didn't take the atv this morning ... norman was close enough for me to walk ...

“We’d like to be able to keep the data as long as possible [forever], because it does provide a rich and enduring data set for investigations down the line,” said David J. Roberts, senior program manager for the Technology Center of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Some cameras also are mounted on poles or overpasses, much as red light cameras and speed cameras are. [traffic cams]

... [rancher's brother] said it looked like his mama had abandoned him ...

... well, the brother went and got some milk replacement from his trailer down the road ... and we bottle fed that little calf for probably an hour ... at first, we had to mash his mouth up and down to get the milk through the nipple and down his throat ... but after about half the bottle, he started sucking on his own ... and he eventually finished the bottle ...

... i kept the little guy in the house yard last night ... and he got me up this morning, mooing for his breakfast ...

... at first, he wouldn't take the bottle ... so i was holding him between my legs and trying to force the nipple in his mouth like yesterday ... but then i decided to let him go ... and he walked around a bit ... and then when i held the nipple out for him, he came right up and began sucking ... and he finished the whole bottle on his own ...

... i've got him in the corral now ... the plan is to put his mama in there with him and to see if she claims him back ...

9/11: A Conspiracy Theory

TRANSCRIPT: On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 men armed with boxcutters directed by a man on dialysis in a cave fortress halfway around the world using a satellite phone and a laptop directed the most sophisticated penetration of the most heavily-defended airspace in the world, overpowering the passengers and the military combat-trained pilots on 4 commercial aircraft before flying those planes wildly off course for over an hour without being molested by a single fighter interceptor.

These 19 hijackers, devout religious fundamentalists who liked to drink alcohol, snort cocaine, and live with pink-haired strippers, managed to knock down 3 buildings with 2 planes in New York, while in Washington a pilot who couldn’t handle a single engine Cessna was able to fly a 757 in an 8,000 foot descending 270 degree corskscrew turn to come exactly level with the ground, hitting the Pentagon in the budget analyst office where DoD staffers were working on the mystery of the 2.3 trillion dollars that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld had announced “missing” from the Pentagon’s coffers in a press conference the day before, on September 10, 2001.

Luckily, the news anchors knew who did it within minutes, the pundits knew within hours, the Administration knew within the day, and the evidence literally fell into the FBI’s lap. But for some reason a bunch of crazy conspiracy theorists demanded an investigation into the greatest attack on American soil in history.

The investigation was delayed, underfunded, set up to fail, a conflict of interest and a cover up from start to finish. It was based on testimony extracted through torture, the records of which were destroyed. It failed to mention the existence of WTC7, Able Danger, Ptech, Sibel Edmonds, OBL and the CIA, and the drills of hijacked aircraft being flown into buildings that were being simulated at the precise same time that those events were actually happening. It was lied to by the Pentagon, the CIA, the Bush Administration and as for Bush and Cheney…well, no one knows what they told it because they testified in secret, off the record, not under oath and behind closed doors. It didn’t bother to look at who funded the attacks because that question is of “little practical significance“. Still, the 9/11 Commission did brilliantly, answering all of the questions the public had (except most of the victims’ family members’ questions) and pinned blame on all the people responsible (although no one so much as lost their job), determining the attacks were “a failure of imagination” because “I don’t think anyone could envision flying airplanes into buildings ” except the Pentagon and FEMA and NORAD and the NRO.

The DIA destroyed 2.5 TB of data on Able Danger, but that’s OK because it probably wasn’t important.

The SEC destroyed their records on the investigation into the insider trading before the attacks, but that’s OK because destroying the records of the largest investigation in SEC history is just part of routine record keeping.

NIST has classified the data that they used for their model of WTC7′s collapse, but that’s OK because knowing how they made their model of that collapse would “jeopardize public safety“.

The FBI has argued that all material related to their investigation of 9/11 should be kept secret from the public, but that’s OK because the FBI probably has nothing to hide.

This man never existed, nor is anything he had to say worthy of your attention, and if you say otherwise you are a paranoid conspiracy theorist and deserve to be shunned by all of humanity. Likewise him, him, him, and her. (and her and her and him).

Osama Bin Laden lived in a cave fortress in the hills of Afghanistan, but somehow got away. Then he was hiding out in Tora Bora but somehow got away. Then he lived in Abottabad for years, taunting the most comprehensive intelligence dragnet employing the most sophisticated technology in the history of the world for 10 years, releasing video after video with complete impunity (and getting younger and younger as he did so), before finally being found in a daring SEAL team raid which wasn’t recorded on video, in which he didn’t resist or use his wife as a human shield, and in which these crack special forces operatives panicked and killed this unarmed man, supposedly the best source of intelligence about those dastardly terrorists on the planet. Then they dumped his body in the ocean before telling anyone about it. Then a couple dozen of that team’s members died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

This is the story of 9/11, brought to you by the media which told you the hard truths about JFK and incubator babies and mobile production facilities and the rescue of Jessica Lynch.

If you have any questions about this story…you are a batshit, paranoid, tinfoil, dog-abusing baby-hater and will be reviled by everyone. If you love your country and/or freedom, happiness, rainbows, rock and roll, puppy dogs, apple pie and your grandma, you will never ever express doubts about any part of this story to anyone. Ever.

This has been a public service announcement by: the Friends of the FBI, CIA, NSA, DIA, SEC, MSM, White House, NIST, and the 9/11 Commission. Because Ignorance is Strength.
