need rain by aug 3 (or trouble)

e: ... sometime in june, when it was still bone dry, a few old-timer ranchers told me that it always rains on the fourth of july ... and that while everyone else was selling all their cows due to the extreme drought (3X local sale barn volume), that they were going to wait until after july fourth to make their decision ...

... it began to rain on july 3 ... and it did rain on july 4 ...

aug 3
-----------
e: ... last year's (2012) total precipitation on the ranch was about 2.5" ... so far, this year (2013), there has been 4.45" of rain and a little snow ... with 4.15" of rain occurring during this month of july ...

... it is now day four since the last decent rain on july 27 ... and i now hear that we need rain by aug 3 (saturday) or else the grass that has begun to grow will burn up and die ... and if that happens ... then those remaining ranchers who have not yet sold out will begin to do so ...

... once ranchers stop selling cows, or there are no more cows to sell, then the price of beef will skyrocket.
