voluntary but mandatory (government double-speak)

e: ... a couple of days ago i changed my post office box ... to receive the box, the post office asked for my physical address ... the small print at the bottom of the form said that i was not required to submit my personal information (physical address) ... it was voluntary ... but that the post office would not be able to provide the service without it ... mandatory ...

... i told this story to a lawyer at the local tavern ... she said that there was no contradiction ...

... FACT: voluntary and mandatory are mutually exclusive terms ...

... FACT: voluntary and mandatory are antonyms ...

... next, you will voluntarily be microchipped, because it will be mandatory in order to work, buy or sell ... and the media will push it as a good thing ...

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. [Revelation 13:17 KJV]

[water is very likely not safe to drink]

"We did not have blood or water samples from the time the medical problem occurred to prove or disprove the assertion," Tom said. "The city requested we withdraw our application and we did, because they weren't comfortable making the decision. Don't get me wrong, I have the ultimate respect for the members of the village council and gratitude that they are willing to give their personal time to do what has to be done, and they are facing a major problem with the water." Citizens' Academy gives people a glimpse of police life
aug 19, 2013

Farmington police are offering a 12-week class to show the public what it's like to be a police officer.

Have you ever wanted to see how the bomb squad deals with explosions, or how they use their robots, or what it's like to work in the K-9 unit?

These of the kinds of classes the Farmington Police Department offers in its Citizens' Academy.

Farmington police are accepting applications for their next academy in September. The classes are on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:30. If you're interested in applying (click below)

Breakfast of Champions

I like to eat breakfast alone, and almost never before noon; anybody with a terminally jangled lifestyle needs at least one psychic anchor every twenty-four hours, and mine is breakfast. In Hong Kong, Dallas, or at home—and regardless of whether or not I have been to bed—breakfast is a personal ritual that can only be properly observed alone, and in a spirit of genuine excess. The food factor should always be massive: four Bloody Marys, two grapefruits, a pot of coffee, Rangoon crêpes, a half-pound of either sausage, bacon, or corned-beef hash with diced chilies, a Spanish omelette or eggs Benedict, a quart of milk, a chopped lemon for random seasoning, and something like a slice of key lime pie, two margaritas and six lines of the best cocaine for dessert…Right, and there should also be two or three newspapers, all mail and messages, a telephone, a notebook for planning the next twenty-four hours, and at least one source of good music…all of which should be dealt with outside, in the warmth of a hot sun, and preferably stone naked.

Ruidoso couple collects rain water for drinking
aug 16, 2013

When they [the McNeils] started having some health problems, they decided to take control of the water they drink.

The McNeils catch the rain on their roof ...

There is a filter system under the house.

The McNeils tell KOB Eyewitness News 4 they first started noticing health problems after the Little Bear Fire.  They were concerned about water contamination.

Boil water advisory lifted in Ruidoso amidst concerns
jul 15, 2013

After ten days, the Boil Water Advisory in Ruidoso has been lifted.  But many people are still concerned after the village was accused about lying about the purity of the water. [true: village was lying] State officials said someone put a filter in the system. [true: filter used]

Investigators said that filter gave inaccurate readings about how pure the water really was. [true: gave better results] The state said that filter was used for two weeks.

According to investigation documents, the village told the state that the filter was used as an experiment.  They were hoping the filter might help them meet their water purification requirements. [true: village met their water purification requirements for two weeks][what about now?]

e: ...  ... do the McNeil's think the village water is safe to drink? [no; they are concerned about water contamination] ... but the author never asks them ... and the author will not connect the dots ... the media is there to hide the truth ... to maximize the minimum and minimize the maximum ... to console you.

... also, watch for the State to begin billing for rainwater collection ... the Carlsbad Irrigation District is now charging 7 cents per gallon for non-potable water (for oil and gas exploration) ... and Albuquerque is about to count rainfall as a watering day (with associated fines) ...

... at 7 cents per gallon, 19,000 gallons of rainwater would equal $1330 ... (and rainwater is the good stuff) ... when they tried that in Argentina, that's when the real trouble began.

... i know an old-timer farmer who says 1 inch of rainwater is better than 10 inches of well/irrigation water for the crops ... it is that good.

automotive repair (ranch truck)

e: ... i helped the rancher's brother repair [the old truck] on monday and tuesday ... a flange had broken off the exhaust pipe just at the exhaust manifold ... and the rancher's brother was worried that a valve would burn out if it wasn't fixed ... so i drove the truck into town sunday night and we repaired it at his home ...

... to do the job we used a hydraulic jack to lift the front end of the truck a good three feet off the ground ... then we removed the problem piece of exhaust by unbolting it from both sides of the exhaust manifold ... and then heating the pipe at the seam three feet further back with an acetylene torch until it was red hot ... and then i pulled from the front and the rancher's brother pulled from the back until the pipe separated ...

... once we had the piece of pipe removed ... we needed to cut about three inches off the end where the flange had broken off ... and then replace it with the same size piece that included a flange ... fortunately the rancher's brother had a replacement pipe in his junk pile, otherwise we would have had to go to a you-pull-it salvage yard ...

... to make a straight cut we used a pipe cutter ... then we used the acetylene torch to weld the replacement piece on ... and it turned out perfectly ...

... the reassembly was a job by itself because of an old jury-rigged repair we discovered ... but we ultimately succeeded ...

... i don't want to think about what it would have cost at a repair shop.

KGB=DHS

The KGB is the commonly used initialism for the Russian: Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti or Committee for State Security. [Department of Homeland Security]

During the Cold War, the KGB actively suppressed "ideological subversion"—unorthodox political and religious ideas and the espousing dissidents.

Sedition

In law, sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that is deemed by the legal authority to tend toward insurrection against the established order.

Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws. Seditious words in writing are seditious libel. A seditionist is one who engages in or promotes the interests of sedition.

Sedition is the stirring up of rebellion against the government in power. Treason is the violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or state, giving aid to enemies, or levying war against one's state. Sedition is encouraging one's fellow citizens to rebel against their state, whereas treason is actually betraying one's country by aiding and abetting another state. Sedition laws somewhat equate to terrorism and public order laws.

Obama says phone spying not abused, will continue
aug 9, 2013

"I am comfortable that the program currently is not being abused," Obama said. "I am comfortable that if the American people examined exactly what was taking place, how it was being used, what the safeguards were, that they would say, `You know what? These folks are following the law.’" [President Barack Obama]

Every day, the NSA sweeps up the phone records of all Americans.

... could create similar databases of people’s credit card transactions, hotel records and Internet searches.

The speech followed a week of leaks in which government officials anonymously described a serious al-Qaida threat revealed in a phone conversation intercepted by U.S. surveillance. Obama reminded the public of that threat as he began his justification for the massive data collection programs.
