pt3 norman (on the lamb)

e: ... oh, great ... norman is on the lamb ...

... a few hours ago i let mama cow out of the corral, but kept norman ... the plan was to put different cows in with him to see if one would adopt him, since his mama isn't producing any milk ...

... well, mama cow went out to pasture for a few hours, but just came back in looking for norman, and calling out ... so i decided to let her back in the corral to spend the night with him ... and only then did i notice that he was not there ... i checked thoroughly inside and outside, around the corral, but could not find him ...

... i am pretty sure i know where he made his escape ... through the space between the fence and the drinking tank ... then out the north side of the corral ... but i'll have to wait until sunrise to go searching for him ...

... he'll be ok for one night, i am sure of it ...

... i'll have to take his bottle with me in the morning  ... then i'll decide what to do next ... normally you tie the calf's legs together and throw him in the back of your truck ... i might be able to do that ... i could use the atv and trailer ... how hard could it be to tie a calf's legs together? ... he's still small ...

... mama cow has stopped calling out for him ... maybe he showed up already ...

... we'll see in the morning.

(update)

e: ... norman is fine ... he is with his mama and half the herd in the west pasture ... i fed him his bottle this morning ... his mama is still not producing any milk ... i have not yet decided what to do next ... i didn't take the atv this morning ... norman was close enough for me to walk ...
