A development company [Aquifer Science] has applied to pump millions of gallons of water from the Sandia Basin in the East Mountains

“We want the state engineer to be really, really careful to make sure that all of our wells don't get dry if they actually approve this application,” says Janet Winchester-Silva of Deep Well Protest.

The company Aquifer Science was formed from a partnership between a Nevada water company and Campbell Ranch.

The state built the augmentation wells under a settlement agreement ...which pump into the Pecos River ...
